Who tells you the truth? The question of all time...!
Right now, the socio-political state of America is a subject of pressing global concern.
Never before in her history, America has been as polarized, divided, wobbly, and displaying symptoms of debilitating gridlock that cannot, and won’t, go away by way of traditional “consensus” politics.
Given that one American misstep can, and will, have global, and possibly dangerous, impact, understanding what exactly is wrong
with the most powerful country in the world is a pressing demand.
But, who’s gonna tell you the Truth?
Today, as never before, truth is open to attack from every corner of the playing (mainly online) field. Assuming that we do understand what truth is, i.e. “the body of real things, events, and facts,” its defenders should not be afraid of speaking out especially about the facts that aim to distort realities and use it as propaganda… and the next vital question is who can be trusted to honestly present the facts as they truly are?
The conundrum of truth vs. lies has occupied philosophers, scholars, and eminent thinkers since time immemorial. The Ancient Greeks, in particular, dedicated great efforts in attempting to educate the proverbial average folk re. ways of being able to recognize truth. And one of their most preferred instrument of doing so was theater and, specifically, comedy.
Ancient Greek dramatists, like the unparalleled Aristophanes, master of political satire and sexual innuendo, used the comedic actor
as the bearer of harsh truths which “the average folk” should hear and, hopefully, digest, as part of realizing the chicanery, corruption, and often criminal self-aggrandizement of politicians.
In today’s America Jimmy Dore, a left-leaning, but never “woke,” standup comedian, who’s build a substantial online and in-theater following, has risen to near Aristophanic level of exposing the current ills of the Nation and, particularly, of the constantly wobbling Ole Joe Biden regime.
In the following clip, Jimmy opens up with all guns on Fox News Tucker Carlson’s show, the most popular cable news program in the country—and holds none of his punches.
If you’re truly concerned on what is going on in the US of A, this type of food for thought is prescribed reality nourishment.
