Turkey's forever war on the world
A blatant fundamentalist Islamic state, Turkey, blackmails, rejects, and threatens as always....
“Modern” Turkey came into being upon the genocide of her Christian minorities, mainly those of Greek and Armenian extraction. The Armenian Genocide is an internationally recognized catastrophe organized by the dying Ottoman Empire upon imperial German instigation (good old Deutschland has an inclination toward ‘final solutions’).
Greece hasn’t been as active as the Armenians to gain international recognition of the destruction of the Pontian Greeks courtesy of The Porte and its Kurdish butchers—I suspect Greek politicians, a generally incompetent lot, don’t feel like going to the mat for “ancient history” whose pursuit won’t create welcome kickback opportunities.
Kemal’s “modern” Turkish construct had no immediate use for devout Mussulmanism and “cleansed” many of Turkey’s Islamic pockets. His heirs followed his legacies, and took to giggling comfortably nearer to Adolf Hitler, who, despite his honest efforts, failed to convince Ankara’s cunny carpet hagglers to declare war on the Allies.
Postwar, Turkey, the lifelong admirer of imperial and, later, Hitlerite, Germany, emerged as the chosen virgin of the West, with perfidious England leading the way, and with Washington synchronized to the British tune, a state of affairs that eventually led to the division of Greek Cyprus into two communities, Greek and Turkish.
That monumental blunder, which a weak, exhausted, and always divided Greece failed to oppose, led directly to the summer 1974 piratical Turkish invasion of the island and its permanent division into an illegal Turkish Cypriot “state” and the internationally recognized EU member Republic of Cyprus.
Greece suffered the odious fate of being shoved into a strategic pairing with Turkdom via NATO, a historically disastrous development, which allows Ankara to threaten Hellas with war, almost daily, in her quest to absorb the whole of the Hellenic Aegean Sea into neo-sultan Erdogan’s imaginary resurrected Ottoman empire—and do all this with political and foreign affairs immunity.
Erdogan has few admirers in Europe, but Turkey’s size (and not-so-secret tethering to Germany and the US) allows Ankara to run roughshod over the European “union,” which is eternally arguing with itself over dud “sanctions” to make Ankara “behave.”
Greece, meantime, in an ever-desperate effort to counter Turkey’s overwhelming threat, hastily signs on the dotted line of “allied pacts” allowing the US to strategically (and tactically) command Greek territories as part of America’s global security and war-making system.
The established absurdity of treating Turkey, essentially a quasi Mussulman terrorist state, as an equal Western partner, has now re-surfaced with a passion following the announcement of both Sweden and Finland abandoning their traditional neutrality (a BIG mistake) and seeking “security” by joining NATO.
Within minutes of the news, neo-sultan Erdogan took to the podium to announce Turkey won’t welcome the two aspiring new Alliance members because they both host “terrorists” targeting Turkey.
This is an old Ankara trick: labeling and describing any country
, which does not appreciate Turkey’s “imperial greatness,” a cohabitant of international terrorism throws the proverbial wrench into diplomatic innards, creates delays to the benefit of Ankara, and increases the chances of a “final arrangement” that accepts, even if partially, Ankara’s demands lest the “broader picture” getting messed up.
I have little doubt that the Western luminaries controlling our fate will eventually conclude it is preferable to “accommodate” the neo-sultan lest the “alliance” suffers undue strains (and conveniently ‘forget’ Ankara is Putin’s chattel servant).
Failing to bring justice upon habitual piratical outliers that are “too big to fail” isn’t a recommended method of securing peace and stability (although both these concepts lose their credibility daily as the world spins out of control toward WWIII).
