It took 9/11 for the world to fully realize the atrocities fanatic Islam
can deal upon civilization (Islam is a ‘religion of peace’ according to former US president George W. Bush, something that did not shield him from the wrath of the devout) .
What followed the Twin Towers pesters the West to this day.
9/11 triggered “forever wars” that led to massive further destabilization and loss of life.
It also established the self-declared “right” of Moslem religious, robed and bearded, fanatics to become world players, who threaten all and sundry with nuclear annihilation, among others, if they deem the grip of Allah on this Earth is being “challenged,” and therefore, “weakened.”
9/11 fomented the rapid escalation of Islamist radicalization throughout Western societies, which remain unable and/or unwilling to crush it without mercy or remorse.
And the turbaned guardians of the faith are getting stronger by the day thanks to oil riches, the kneejerk foreign & security policies of feminized “united” Europe, the socio-political woke mess pestering the USA, and the friendly “neutrality” of those we used to call the “non-aligned.”
That Salman Rushdie escaped the homicidal mania of the Iranian blood-drenched mullahs, and their fanatic minions across the world, as long as he did, is a true miracle of chances he accepted as inevitabilities.
Short of bunkering, and choosing to live in situ surrounded by the meanest of professional bodyguards, Rushdie simply accepted the odds were against him. He understood there’s no realistic and statistical way of escaping from the festering global hatred of religious butchers, assassins, and millions of anonymous “devout” willing and able to kill, kill, and then kill some more, even at the cost of sacrificing their own lives in pursuit of becoming the Shaheed (martyrs) of the Faith.
When the late Shah-slayer Khomeini issued his fatwa calling for Rushdie’s assassination in 1989, British authorities placed the author under police protection. Rushdie was later knighted for his contributions to literature and, beginning in 2000, took residence in the United States, a wise move which, however, did not protect him from the Moslem fanatics and the deranged.
His attacker, identified as a certain Hadi Matar, is currently the subject of an intense law enforcement investigation. His existence would have been entirely without purpose,
a condition that includes tens of millions like him across the globe, if he had not chosen to wield the knife that he did—and allowing the world to continue being a slightly better place for all humanity.
Now buckle up for the interminable judicial process, already under way, to establish Hadi’s assumed (!) culpability, when a swift settlement of the case would have been most appropriate, and would have saved money better spend elsewhere, too.
