Palestine, Ukraine still boiling & burning
George Galloway and Scott Ritter discuss our sliding toward global war
For the first time since the end of WWII, the world is boiling in ways that increasingly point to the possibility of yet another global conflagration.
The prospect of a WWIII is, to say the least, the stuff that puts the fear of God into the hearts and minds of even the toughest and the most battle-hardened—because this will be the first and, most likely, the last clash of arms done with the use of nuclear weapons that’ll turn giant swaths of Planet Earth into burned-out and uninhabitable deserts for years to come.
But, despite these increasingly plausible prognostications, few, if any, international actors are willing to raise the alarm and go to the trenches to stop this horrific slide towards “the war to end all wars.”
History offers little help in searching for workable tactics to stop the clock before midnight. The wise men of ages gone, who proved themselves both warriors and agents of peace, are dead and buried… and no “working copies” appear anywhere on the current world stage.
Western democratic politics has been waning for years now and the vacuum thus created has been mostly filled by the West’s expanding “wokeness,” a severely rotten remnant of liberal politics, and extreme forms of traditional conservatism that are challenged not only in the streets, but, also, at all tiers of political life.
And this political disintegration is now coupled, at least in the “civilized” West, by the filthy ideologies of homosexualism and all the rest of its associated rotten, and stomach-churning, movements to “liberate” those who challenge the very biological fundamentals of Nature and suggest the “natural” existence of a sea of “genders” that deserve immediate and universal legitimization.
It is no surprise, therefore, to see Western politicians retreating hastily to “defensive positions” that are not exactly redoubts of determined initiatives and application of fighting politics in the true meaning of words that are now long forgotten thanks to “woke” flabbiness replacing broad-chested action.
Westerners, in particular, have been growing “soft” for years after the collapse of old school Sovietism in the 1980s and the misplaced confidence in a Western military prowess that is progressively losing its (assumed) edge and remains under the control of midget-class politicians and increasing “woke” newcomers, whose backbone under stress is, at best, questionable.
“Everyone is in favor of free speech. Hardly a day passes without its being extolled, but some people's idea of it is that they are free to say what they like, but if anyone else says anything back, that is an outrage.” ~ Winston Churchill
And that’s exactly the ambiance we experience in these challenging times.
