I woke up this morning to the news of Rachel (formerly Richard) Levine, a trans person, having been elevated to the rank of admiral (!) and appointed officer commanding of the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.
The merits (or lack thereof) of this appointment I won’t discuss here in the interest of peace. But… that Ole Trembling Joe is committed to wrecking the US Government china shop down to the very last saucer, coffee cup, and delicate wine glass needs no elaboration. In the process, Ole Joe’s apparent target is to take a country in crisis and make sure she doesn’t survive the test.
Actions always speak volumes. Since the very first day at the White House, Ole Joe and the Gang rolled up their sleeves up and got down to the business of
disarticulating everything and anything that does not conform to “wokeness”
making eye-popping weirdness (physical, mental, and otherwise) the widely applied “progressive” measure of what makes human beings “normal” plus capable of good citizenship
wrecking the nuclear family anchored in the union of man and woman, no “sex fluidities” accepted
imposing recognition and legitimization of physical and mental deviance as positive and, indeed, desirable assets in an “all-inclusive” “tolerant” society
massaging “oppressed minorities” into insurrection in order to break the incipient “fascism” emerging from the tens of millions of Americans, who are appalled by the current assault on everything American
approving of and applauding the mobs that topple statues of Fathers of the Nation while beautifying violent criminals
manipulating public education in favor of political subversion and “wokeness”
effectively removing the southern border and allowing huge mobs of illegal immigrants to flood the country thus neutralizing every law in the books via deliberate acts of the very same US government responsible for upholding them
and doing everything else in their power to crack the foundations of the Republic in pursuit of their made-to-order liberal totalitarianism.
I’m pretty sure that anyone who dares take Ole Joe et.al. (and/or Levine itself) to the woodshed, over this latest in-your-face celebration of the “other,” will be immediately kicked to death in the blood-drenched social media arena by raging mobs of “diversity and inclusion” hallucinatory brownshirts.
I’ve found the following two articles to be right on the button as part of every day’s efforts to preserve one’s sanity. In these tragic, frightening times reading like this is (almost) mandatory.
We Got Here Because of Cowardice. We Get Out With Courage
Say no to the Woke Revolution
A lot of people want to convince you that you need a Ph.D. or a law degree or dozens of hours of free time to read dense texts about critical theory to understand the woke movement and its worldview. You do not. You simply need to believe your own eyes and ears.
Let me offer the briefest overview of the core beliefs of the Woke Revolution, which are abundantly clear to anyone willing to look past the hashtags and the jargon.
It begins by stipulating that the forces of justice and progress are in a war against backwardness and tyranny. And in a war, the normal rules of the game must be suspended. Indeed, this ideology would argue that those rules are not just obstacles to justice, but tools of oppression. They are the master’s tools. And the master’s tools cannot dismantle the master’s house.
So the tools themselves are not just replaced but repudiated. And in so doing, persuasion—the purpose of argument—is replaced with public shaming. Moral complexity is replaced with moral certainty. Facts are replaced with feelings.
Ideas are replaced with identity. Forgiveness is replaced with punishment. Debate is replaced with de-platforming. Diversity is replaced with homogeneity of thought. Inclusion, with exclusion.
In this ideology, speech is violence. But violence, when carried out by the right people in pursuit of a just cause, is not violence at all. In this ideology, bullying is wrong, unless you are bullying the right people, in which case it’s very, very good. In this ideology, education is not about teaching people how to think, it’s about reeducating them in what to think. In this ideology, the need to feel safe trumps the need to speak truthfully.
If monarchy is rule by one, oligarchy rule by the few, and democracy rule by the many, a bureaucracy might be said to be rule by no one.
Perhaps no recent example better encapsulates the above observation by political philosopher Hannah Arendt than Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg’s largely unnoticed absence amid America’s worst supply-chain meltdown in living memory. Was Buttigieg ill? Fanatically dedicated to working behind the scenes? Nope! He’d simply punched out, like taking a personal day except for two months, in order to help husband Chasten recover from the traumas of childbirth.
