Anarchy, wild criminality in the Age of Covid
Law-and-order disintegrates while politicians are cockfighting
That the USA, and many other countries, are in a whirlwind of social and moral disintegration, thanks to the global Covid catastrophe, needs no particular elaboration. But in America, in particular, we observe an unprecedented perilous regression toward unrestrained criminal activity
from
a spike in violent crime;
an epidemic of daily shooting incidents, as gangs and individuals arm themselves courtesy of a sea of (mainly illegal) firearms;
random lethal attacks like this upon unsuspecting people;
police departments being overwhelmed thanks to “woke” policies engineered by left “progressives” and liberal district attorneys working hard to keep perpetrators
out of jail or prison;
and a generalized, rapidly spreading, lawlessness that surpasses anything that we’ve seen in recent years.
As part of this developing criminal trend, train robbery
, once a phenomenon of Wild West days, is making a ferocious comeback right under the noses of state and local authorities, police departments, and public administrators responsible for safe railroad transportation of both consumer and vital pandemic-defense goods.
The stark examples below are from Los Angeles, one American metropolis sliding fast down the chute of this reckless criminal outburst—now engulfing even “safe” upscale areas of the city.
There are no immediate answers to this latest outlaw twist as public officials, let alone politicians, are twisting their thumbs while promising to “address the problem at all possible speed,” a euphemism of continuing to avoid the brass-knuckles policies demanded by this latest outburst lest “oppressed” and “underprivileged” criminals are penalized “disproportionally” by a law enforcement surge and the threat of expanding “mass incarceration,” one of the most favorite anathemas in liberal eyes.
Another day, another “woke” dead end.
